Training
Agencies are
responding more effectively to Domestic Violence and Child Protection then
ever before. The recent publication
of the Government’s ‘Domestic Violence, Crime and Victims Bill’ has
announced new tough powers for the police and the courts to protect victims
and prosecute abusers.

...is your agency doing enough?
|
In order for agencies
to respond effectively to Domestic Violence and Child Protection, it is
crucial that their staff have a full understanding of the issues.
Domestic Violence Awareness Training
Domestic violence is an extremely
complex issue, which makes it difficult to understand the issues survivors
face. Our awareness training defines
domestic violence, the different forms of abuse and explores other issues
such as why women stay in abusive relationships, giving a greater
understanding of the issue.
Furthermore, the impact on children is examined to dispel any myth
that children are not affected by Domestic Violence. How to deliver a helpful response and
action plans for responding are also covered.
Child Protection Basic Awareness Training
Child Protection,
whilst being an important issue, can also prove to be an extremely complex
one for us to understand. Often we
can find ourselves doing nothing for fear of getting it wrong or making it
worse. As a result, some children
may feel let down by our response.
Basic Awareness
training is designed to equip staff to respond to children in need of our
support in an appropriate and professional way.
